NEW YORK — Philadelphia closer Brad Lidge has gone on the 15-day disabled list because of a sprained right knee. The move was announced before Tuesday’s series opener at the New York Mets and was retroactive to Sunday.
Lidge is 13-for-19 in save attempts for the Phillies this season with an 0-3 record and 7.27 ERA in 28 games.

Manny Ramirez visited his Los Angeles Dodgers teammates before a home game for the first time since his suspension for violating Major League Baseball’s drug policy.
Hamilton has surgery.
Texas Rangers outfielder Josh Hamilton had surgery in Philadelphia to repair a partially torn abdominal muscle.
Hamilton likely will be out four to six weeks.

The Chicago White Sox placed right-hander Bartolo Colon on the 15-day disabled list with inflammation in his left knee.
