SIOUX FALLS, S.D.—A Denver police officer pleaded not guilty in Custer to charges that she shot at three South Dakota lawmen.

A judge dropped attempted murder charges against 31-year-old Kachina McAlexander of Aurora, Colo., but kept three aggravated assault counts.

She was arrested March 24 at the Super 8 Motel in Custer and is out on bond.

Authorities say Highway Patrol Trooper Todd Albertson and Custer County deputies Frank Kistler and Derek Booker found McAlexander with a gun in her hand and she fired at them several times.

No one was injured.

McAlexander is due back in court in Custer July 9 for a status hearing.
