CENTENNIAL, Colo.—Prosecutors and defense attorneys are inching closer to a trial for an Aurora man accused of concealing his daughter’s death.

Aaron Thompson and his defense team were in Arapahoe County District Court today for the first in a series of pre-trial hearings. He’s scheduled to stand trial in August.

Thompson reported his daughter Aarone (AIR’-ah-nay) missing in November 2005. She would have been 6 at the time but authorities say she may have died as early as 2003. The indictment alleges that she was buried in a field and that Thompson and his girlfriend, Shely Lowe, concealed her death.

Thompson is scheduled to go on trial in August.
