AURORA, Colo.—Colorado State Parks is celebrating its 50th anniversary.
A birthday party was planned Wednesday at Cherry Creek State Park, Colorado’s first state park.
Since it was created in 1959, over 40 parks—almost a quarter-million acres—have been added to the system. The parks are supported in part by proceeds from Colorado Lottery sales.
