The husband of a woman who disappeared under suspicious circumstances in 1995 has been charged with murder, authorities say.
John Sandoval, 44, was arrested in Las Vegas today on a first degree murder warrant in the death of his wife, Kristina Sandoval. She died in October of 1995.
According to police reports, Kristina was to call her sister, Susan Ybarra, following the meeting with Sandoval no later than 12:30 p.m. on October 19. Kristina never made the call and has not been seen or heard from since that day, authorities say.
A death certificate for Kristina was issued on Feb. 12, 2002.
The warrant was signed by a Weld County District Court Judge and sealed until the arrest of Sandoval was made.
Sandoval is currently being held at the Clark County Detention Center without bond and is waiting extradition to Weld County.
