DENVER—Denver police say a woman suspected in the hit-and-run death in a Burger King parking lot has turned herself in to police in Westminster.

Twenty-six-year-old Nadine Nicole Montoya, also known as Nadine Carter, was being held in the Denver jail Friday for investigation of first-degree murder. Bond had not yet been set. Jail records didn’t indicate whether she had a lawyer.

Detectives say she was driving a car suspected of striking 49-year-old Lilian Verdonkschot early May 29 before leaving the scene. Verdonkschot later died of her injuries.

Police say the hit appeared intentional.
