ST. LOUIS — Keith Tkachuk, a savvy forward who helped lead the St. Louis Blues to the playoffs for the first time since 2004, will be back for another year.

Terms were not disclosed.

Tkachuk, 37, is a five-time all-star who has spent eight of his 17 NHL seasons with the Blues, though he was traded to Atlanta for 18 games at the end of the 2006-07 season before re-signing with St. Louis.

In 2008-09, he had 25 goals, 24 assists and 61 penalty minutes.

• Center Steven Reinprecht signed a three-year contract with the Panthers after the Coyotes traded his rights to Florida for left wing Stefan Meyer. Reinprecht scored 14 goals with 27 assists in 73 games with the Coyotes last season.

F1 plans suit against rival series

SILVERSTONE, England — Formula One intends to sue the eight teams that announced plans for a rival series next season — the biggest crisis to engulf the sport since the championship began in 1950.

The governing body accused the Formula One Teams Association of “serious violations of law.” The breakaway came after Ferrari, championship leader Brawn GP and six other teams failed to resolve a dispute over the introduction of a budget cap for next season.

The ruling body, known as FIA, cited “willful interference with contractual relations, direct breaches of Ferrari’s legal obligations and a grave violation of competition law.” Ferrari has been part of Formula One from the outset.

Brian Vickers, with a lap of 93.678, won the pole position for Sunday’s Toyota/SaveMart 350 in Sonoma, Calif.

• The Camping World Truck series race in West Allis, Wis., was postponed by rain and is rescheduled for today.

• The NASCAR Hall of Fame announced it will open May 11 after more than four years of construction in Charlotte, N.C.

Lynx’s Augustus out for season

MINNEAPOLIS — Minnesota Lynx star Seimone Augustus will miss the rest of the WNBA season with a torn ACL in her left knee. Augustus was the Lynx’s leading scorer with 21 points per game.

Without Augustus, the Lynx fell to the Storm 90-62 at Seattle.

Tamika Catchings scored 15 points and the visiting Indiana Fever beat Detroit 66-54 in Rick Mahorn‘s debut as Shock coach.

Janel McCarville scored 18 points to lead the New York Liberty to a 77-61 home victory over San Antonio. The Silver Stars were without Becky Hammon, who was overseas playing with Russia in the European championships.

• The Atlanta Dream dealt the visiting Washington Mystics their first loss of the season, 93-81.

• The Connecticut Sun won its first game at home, 91-61 over the Chicago Sky.

Cappie Pondexter scored eight points in the final two minutes as the host Phoenix Mercury defeated the Los Angeles Sparks 89-80.
