FARGO, N.D.—Former Lincoln Stars coach Steve Johnson is the new coach of the USHL’s Fargo Force.
The team made the announcement a week after Dean Blais resigned to become the head coach at the University of Nebraska-Omaha.
Johnson coached the Fargo-Moorhead Bears for that team’s lone USHL season, and then coached the Lincoln Stars for 11 seasons.
Johnson had a regular-season record of 406-188-47 with the Stars and a playoff record of 49-36. He took a break from the league the last two seasons to live in Grand Forks and follow his son’s hockey career.
