KREMMLING — A search will resume today for a rafter missing in the Colorado River in Grand County.

Rescuers were called before 1 p.m. Saturday when a 41-year-old man was reported overboard in the Needle’s Eye rapids southwest of Kremmling.

The search was suspended as darkness fell, a Grand County Sheriff’s Office dispatcher said. The missing rafter has not been named.

The Colorado River was running high and fast Saturday in the Kremmling area, according to a U.S. Geological Survey river gauge. The river’s flow was measured at nearly 4,000 cubic feet per second.
