After dispensing with the top team in the Eastern Conference with a 3-0 trouncing of D.C. United on Saturday, the Rapids will attempt to extend a seven-game unbeaten streak when they host FC Dallas tonight.
The Rapids and Hoops kick off at 7:30 p.m. at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City. Six of the Rapids’ next eight games are at home.
The Rapids’ two losses this season are an MLS low, tied with Western Conference-leading Houston (8-2-4, 28 points). Colorado (5-2-5, 20 points) is in fourth place.
Dallas (3-7-4) is one point out of the West cellar.
The Rapids will again be without league-leading scorer Conor Casey, who is on duty with the U.S. National team at the Confederation’s Cup in South Africa. Colorado is looking for a second consecutive win for the second time this season and are led by Omar Cummings, whose two goals and an assist led the win over United.
