The Xcel Energy Foundation has awarded 38 grants totaling $331,500 to educational and environmental groups across Colorado.
Grants went to support activities as varied as the Colorado State Science Fair, $7,500, and an environmental project to reduce habitat damage from beavers on the Sand Creek Greenway, $13,000.
Education grants went to the Denver Public Schools Foundation, Metropolitan State College, the University of Colorado at Boulder and the University of Denver.
