OMAHA, Neb.—Kansas City Royals third baseman Alex Gordon will play for Omaha in a rehab assignment game.
Gordon is set to play in the Omaha Royals’ 6:35 p.m. Friday game against the New Orleans Zephyrs.
Gordon played only seven games this season before going on the DL with a hip injury. He is not expected to return to play until after the All-Star break.
Gordon was the Royals’ first-round pick in the 2005 draft out of Nebraska. He will be making his first appearance in an Omaha uniform.
