OMAHA, Neb.—Former Nebraska football player Willie Miller has been sentenced to 18 months of probation for criminal mischief in a road-rage incident.
Miller was sentenced Wednesday in Douglas County District Court.
The incident involved off-duty Omaha police officer Larry Lacoma in April 2008. Lacoma has said he saw Miller’s vehicle make a reckless lane change in west Omaha and honked at Miller.
Lacoma said he then noticed Miller following him before Miller rammed Lacoma’s vehicle from behind. The crash pushed Lacoma’s vehicle 40 to 50 feet and caused it to hit a minivan.
Miller was found guilty of the offense in February, but a jury found him not guilty of first-degree assault.
Miller played fullback for the Cornhuskers from 1997 to 2000.
