Denver Water officials issued a warning after a man posing as one of their employees attempted to enter a customer’s home Monday.
The customer, who was not identified, did not allow the man inside.
The utility is warning customers to ask for identification if someone claims to be with Denver Water.
Employees neither conduct random water checks nor collect money on site.
Anyone targeted by an imposter is asked to call Denver Water Customer Care at 303-893-2444 and police.
