BOULDER — Boulder County District Attorney Stan Garnett said Tuesday that a sheriff’s deputy was justified in shooting Cosmo “Daniel” Moshe Grill on June 5.
Grill had taken a Taser from another officer when Deputy Lanie Delong, 31, fired the shot that wounded Grill in the stomach during a fracas at Grill’s home in Boulder.
Grill, who had recently moved to Boulder from New York City, had been screaming and had thrown a rock through his neighbor’s window earlier, according to investigators.
He was expected to agree to a plea deal in Boulder County District Court this month but instead was checked into a New York hospital after suffering a psychotic episode, the Daily Camera reported.
