Broomfield-based Level 3 Communications and Lancaster, Texas, telecommunications firm HyperCube LLC are waging a battle through regulatory agencies over $19 million in disputed access charges for wireless calls.
HyperCube on Wednesday asked the California Public Utilities Commission to force Level 3 to place $5.3 million in escrow pending a ruling on HyperCube’s effort to collect $19 million in fees.
Level 3 in May filed a motion with the Federal Communications Commission, saying HyperCube was overcharging for access service and that the firm engaged in “unjust, unreasonable and unlawful” business practices.
