Canada-based Agrium Inc., a retailer of agricultural products and services, plans to move two of its division headquarters to Loveland by the third quarter of 2010.
The move will create about 150 new jobs, said Dean Barber, vice president of office development for the Loveland development company McWhinney, which developed the Centerra office and shopping center where the headquarters will be located.
The divisions expect to have about 420 total jobs over the next five years with an aggregate annual payroll of more than $27 million.
The company will move its Greeley-based Crop Production Services division into a new 80,000-square-foot building slated to open in June 2010.
Kent McDaniel, director of human resources for Crop Production Services, views the move as invaluable to the company.
“We’re excited to be moving into one facility that we can consolidate all our operations in,” McDaniel said. “Our existing facility isn’t big enough to do that for future growth.”
The Agrium Advanced Technologies division, which currently has its headquarters split between Alabama and Canada, will move into 22,500 square feet of an existing building between the third quarters of 2009 and 2010.
“We are pleased to have a company of such high caliber choose our city, and we look forward to a long-term partnership with them,” said Loveland Mayor Gene Pielin in a statement.
Agrium Inc. was voted “Best Place to Work” in 2007 and 2008 by CalgaryINC magazine.
