ATLANTA — About three of every five Americans believe there will be widespread swine-flu cases this fall or winter, but most are not worried it will strike them or their families, according to a survey released Thursday.
About half of people surveyed by the Harvard School of Public Health said if someone in their family did get swine flu, it likely would be a life-threatening condition. And roughly 90 percent said they would be willing to avoid public places for more than two weeks if health officials told them to.
The telephone survey of more than 1,800 U.S. adults was done in late June. It had a margin of error of plus or minus 2.8 percentage points. The Associated Press
