Jefferson County Sheriff’s deputies have arrested a man they allege is responsible for a June 26 sexual assault of a woman in her home near C-470 and West Belleview Avenue.

Police have identified the man as Ryan Iliff, 21. Authorities say Iliff had lived in the area before but wouldn’t confirm Saturday where he was living.

Iliff was found about 7 p.m. Friday in South Jefferson County and taken in for questioning.

Police allege Iliff forced his way into the victim’s bedroom at about 2:30 a.m. The victim, a woman in her 50s, immediately called 911 and helped investigators by not disturbing the crime scene.

After being interviewed by authorities, Iliff was arrested and is being held at the Jefferson County jail.

Iliff faces three felony charges: sexual assault, first-degree burglary and failure to register as a sex offender. Additional charges may be added, police said.

Iliff is scheduled to appear in court Monday to be formally advised of the charges. A photo of Iliff was not released pending a police photo line-up.
