Arvada police are investigating the circumstances that led to the death of man whose body was found in Clear Creek at Interstate 70 and Wadsworth Boulevard this afternoon.
Police received a call about 2 p.m. from a person who said they found the body in the water in Johnson Park.
The dead man’s identity is not yet known, and it was unclear how long he had been in the river, police said.
They do not think Monday night’s storms played a role, however.
The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office will conduct an autopsy to determine the cause of death, police said.
