Rocky Mountain National Park employees have rescued a 64-year-old Estes Park man who fell on Longs Peak.
The man, whose name wasn’t released, fell about 10 feet on the 14,259-foot mountain Friday. He injured his head and ankle and was complaining of back pain.
A park ranger alerted by another hiker reached the man shortly before 1 p.m. The ranger helped the man part way down the mountain.
Another ranger then helped get the man to a shelter at 13,150 feet in altitude.
A park crew with a litter hiked to the shelter Friday evening. The man was flown to the hospital in Estes Park.
