State Sen. Rollie Heath, a Democrat and former gubernatorial candidate from Boulder, has had surgery for esophageal cancer.
Senate President Brandon Shaffer told the Democratic caucus that Heath had surgery Tuesday. He said Heath was told the cancer could be treated with surgery. Heath plans to be back at work Friday.
