A 57-year-old Littleton man was killed Saturday afternoon at a dirt bike track southeast of Berthoud, according to the Weld County Sheriff’s Office, the second fatality at the track in a week. His name was not immediately available.

There were no witnesses to the crash at the Valley Dirt Riders Motocross track just before 3 p.m., but another rider told authorities that the wrecked bike’s wheels were still spinning when the body was discovered, said Deputy Shane Scofield, a sheriff’s office spokesman.

In the earlier incident, The Greeley Tribune reported that Anthony Hayes, 25, of Evans was injured at the track July 25 and died from his injuries Monday. Joey Bunch, The Denver Post
