Admission is free until March 28 at the Colorado History Museum, just south of downtown Denver. The museum’s quarters are being moved about a block away to a new facility awaiting construction. The Stephen H. Hart library will remain open until Oct. 31.

It’s only $5 to enter the 2009 Spam Championship competition for a recipe featuring the food product that’s been a mainstay for misers and comedians. Last year, Colorado Springs resident Ron Pearmon won the national grand prize — $3,000 — with his mini-Spam nacho burgers.

Humane Society of the United States “Celebrate Chimpanzees” drawing contest,
Primate time.
Monument fourth-grade student Sophia Lovato’s engaging drawing of two chimpanzees won the grand prize, a $500 savings bond, in the Humane Society’s national art competition. The contest, designed to teach children about the problems faced by caged chimpanzees, was open from April to June to kindergarteners through sixth-grade students.
