DENVER—Sen. Michael Bennet plans to talk with doctors at Denver’s St. Joseph’s Hospital as Congress continues to debate an overhaul of the health care system.
The Colorado Democrat will be at the hospital Monday morning to talk about what he says are burdensome insurance procedures that make health care more expensive to patients.
Bennet says health care changes should lower costs and shift control from insurance companies to physicians and their patients.
A vote by the full House on a health care overhaul bill could come as early as September.
Republicans have criticized Democrats’ plans and say the current proposals would force millions in employer-based coverage into a government-run system.
