Fans in attendance for the afternoon practice required the virtue of patience. After roughly an hour of a walkthrough practice, some of the team’s players broke off for team drills in full gear. Though the work didn’t include any starters, it at least gave the afternoon crowd a little full-speed action in the summer sun. And the best came when rookie wide receiver Kenny McKinley snared a Tom Brandstater pass that had been deflected high in the air by rookie cornerback Tony Carter. “(Carter) got to it, but I was in the right place to pull it in,” McKinley said.
