Four Thomas Jefferson High School students received probation and community service today for their roles in defacing an American flag with “crude drawings and racist language” and then lying to investigators, according to the Denver District Attorney’s office.
All four had pleaded guilty in an earlier hearing.
An unnamed juvenile received two years of probation and 100 hours of community service on a charge of defacing the property of another.
Jesus Flores-Ramos, 19, pleaded guilty to false reporting and disorderly conduct. He received a year of supervised probation, 100 hours of community service and must take a cultural sensitivity course.
Wade Sternberg, 18, pleaded guilty to false reporting and disorderly conduct. He was sentenced to a year of supervised probation, 100 hours of community service and must take a cultural sensitivity course.
Briawna Lewis, 18, pleaded guilty to false reporting. She was sentenced to a year of probation with a deferred judgment, 48 hours of community service and must take a cultural sensitivity course.
