A 33-year-old firefighter for the Tri Lakes Fire Protection District in Monument was arrested in Parker today on charges of Internet luring of a child.
Authorities identified the firefighter as Shane D. Hayden of Colorado Springs.
According to the Parker Police Department, beginning in July, Hayden contacted a juvenile girl in Parker via the Internet.
The chats turned sexual in nature, and Hayden allegedly requested to meet the girl for sexual purposes.
When Hayden arrived in Parker today for a scheduled meeting with the child, he was taken into custody.
The case was investigated by the Parker Police Department’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
