CORNING, N.Y. — Corning Inc., the world’s biggest maker of glass for flat-panel televisions, said an earthquake off the coast of Japan’s main island disrupted production at its liquid-crystal-display plant in Shizuoka.
Operations won’t resume “for some time” following the 6.5-magnitude quake that struck after 5 a.m. local time Tuesday, the company said in a statement. No employees were injured, based on initial reports, Corning said.
