The Jefferson County school board selected Robin Johnson as its new board member, filling the seat left vacant when board president Scott Benefield resigned in June for personal reasons.
Johnson lives in Arvada, has three children in Jeffco schools and has been active in the district’s parent-teacher organization.
She will take the oath of office on 6 p.m. at the Sept. 3 board meeting. As an appointee, she will have to run for election in November from District 1.
The board also has reorganized, electing Sue Marinelli as president and Rick Rush as secretary/treasurer.
