BOULDER — A Boulder woman who police say fatally stabbed her husband last week was charged Wednesday with second-degree murder in the “heat of passion,” a felony that could land her up to 32 years in prison.
Traci Housman, 36, was charged in connection with the Aug. 2 stabbing death of her husband, John Housman, 41.
Prosecutors added a “crime of violence” aspect to the charge, increasing the possible sentence range from four to 16 years in prison to 10 to 32 years.
“We know she’s innocent,” Donna Lundstrom said of her daughter, the Daily Camera reported. “Anyone who knows Traci knows that she’s not capable of doing anything like that.”
