Early this morning in Colorado Springs a vehicle crashed through a privacy fence, hit a tree, and smashed into two parked cars before the driver fled on rims because his tires were shredded.

The incident happened at about 3 a.m. in the 3100 block of Deliverance Drive, according to the Colorado Springs Police Department blotter.

Officers responding to the crash found the smashed-up vehicle abandoned, but quickly traced the owner to his home on Telluride Drive, police said.

Gabriel Costales, 21, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and for driving after having his license revoked, among other possible charges, police said.

Costales was held at the El Paso County Jail in lieu of a $10,000 bond.

No one was injured in the crash.
