Best meal: Marrin Cafe. Marrin are basically mini-lobsters but with more flavor.
Best deal: Our rental house on Emu Bay. It was large, simple and beautiful with an amazing view and just steps to the beach. Fully equipped with everything you might need.
Best time to go: Probably March. We went in late April and the weather was beautiful but little too chilly to swim. The water is way too nice not to swim.
Best travel tip: The ferry to Kangaroo Island from the mainland is very expensive. You pay per person and per car, but you do need the car.
