ATLANTA—Gov. Sonny Perdue says payment processing firm First Data Corp. plans to expand as it relocates its global headquarters from the Denver area to metro Atlanta.
Perdue says First Data plans to add up to 1,000 jobs in the next three years to support expected business and product development.
The company plans to expand its 180,000-square-foot facility in Sandy Springs.
Michael Capellas, chairman and CEO of First Data, says the move allows First Data to consolidate operations and be closer to its customers.
The company says it already has 750 employees in metro Atlanta in prepaid services, mobile commerce and e-commerce operations.
