The State Auditor’s Office has agreed to conduct an audit of the Regional Transportation District, as requested by the Legislative Audit Committee of the Colorado General Assembly in June.
State Auditor Sally Symanski said the audit will focus on two areas — the compensation and benefits of RTD’s general manager and other senior managers, and how RTD computes and evaluates the cost effectiveness of privatizing services.
On another RTD matter, the agency’s board of directors voted unanimously Tuesday evening to pay the executive search firm Krauthamer & Associates, of Chevy Chase, Md., up to $100,000 to conduct a nationwide search for a new general manager/ chief executive for RTD.
Former RTD general manager Cal Marsella left the agency at the end of July.
