FORT COLLINS — There’s no tear in the beer at craft breweries, despite the recession. The Brewers Association said this week that craft brewers sold 4.2 million barrels in the first six months of the year, up 5 percent from the same period last year.
The growth rate was 6.5 percent from a year ago.
Fort Collins-based New Belgium Brewery, maker of Fat Tire, says its sales are growing at an annual rate of about 12 percent. New Belgium spokesman Bryan Simp son says people are reluctant to give up craft beers despite the recession.
