Coal Creek Canyon resident Gary L. David, 58, fatally shot himself in the head while taking apart an assault rifle Tuesday night, the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office said Wednesday.
There is no indication of foul play, investigators said.
David was alone inside his garage on Crescent Lake Road about 8:40 p.m., when the shooting was reported.
Evidence indicated he had begun to take the rifle apart when it fired, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
