Lafayette magician Gregg Tobo uses magic as a metaphor to inspire his audience. Rather than develop new tricks, he takes cues from the illusionists who came before him. Quentin Tarantino has said that his World War II film, “Inglourious Basterds,” is more spaghetti Western meets “macaroni combat” than a serious war epic. Out-of-school angst
Although critics have dubbed “Post Grad,” starring Alexis Bledel, a throwback romantic comedy better suited to a 1950s audience, it could be ideal for a bit of silly, late-summer escapism. 1 hour, 27 minutes. PG-13.
