FORT COLLINS, Colo.—Colorado State University’s plan for dealing with a flu pandemic on campus has been in the works for about three years and includes isolating ill students who live on campus in separate housing.

The plan is being adjusted to accommodate the swine flu, which cropped up after Colorado State began working on its plan. Health experts have warned schools and colleges to brace for absences due to the flu, which closed some camps this summer.

Colorado State officials expect to provide swine flu shots to students free of charge later this fall when the vaccine becomes available.

The vaccine will be distributed according to priorities developed by the federal Centers for Disease Control.
