BOULDER, Colo.—Four Silver Mine Subs shops have been closed by Colorado officials because of unpaid taxes.
The Daily Camera newspaper reports that one of the shops in Boulder was dark Wednesday, with a sign saying it was seized by the state. Three shops were closed in Denver.
Seizure documents show the shop’s operator, Eight Arms Inc., owes the state $105,000. The sandwich chain is based in Fort Collins, but company officials could not be reached for comment.
Silver Mine operates in six states and has nine shops in Colorado. Silver Mine’s Web site no longer includes the three Denver locations and says that the Boulder shop is “coming soon.”
