The Broomfield Event Center will be under new management effective Tuesday.

The Broomfield City Council on Tuesday night voted 9-1 to approve a deal letting Peak Entertainment LLC take over the 6,000-seat city-owned arena.

Peak Entertainment is a new company formed by concert promoter AEG Live and arena manager Kroenke Sports Enterprises. Its agreement with Broomfield lasts for three years but could be renewed for up to 30 years.

Broomfield has been looking for a new manager since January and had been in talks with AEG Live and Kroenke Sports since June.

“We’re gonna have some fun here,” said Chuck Morris, regional president of AEG Live, after the vote.
