A 30-year-old Highlands Ranch man faces serious felony charges after allegedly initiating sexually explicit Internet conversations with a person he believed was 13-year-old girl and tried to arrange a meeting, prosecutors said today.
Ryan Robert Rebenack is charged with Internet sexual exploitation of a child, Internet luring and enticement of a child, and criminal attempt to commit sexual assault on a child.
Rebenack is accused of contacting an undercover Denver police officer, whom he thought to be a teenager, in a chatroom on Aug. 13.
He e-mailed pornographic images of himself and arranged a meeting at the Cherry Creek Mall parking lot with the intent of having sex, prosecutors said.
Police arrested Rebenack when he showed up at the mall parking lot on Aug. 15.
He is free on a $25,000 bond.
