WELD COUNTY — Trenton Parker, 64, who distributed a flier asking for someone to come to the property he tends in Weld County and gun down 24 horses, has a history of politics and crime.

In 1977, Parker ran for the Republican nomination for the U.S. Senate in Colorado but dropped out of the race. And, according to the Denver Post library, Parker was sent to federal prison in the 1990s for bilking investors of $9 million.

It’s unclear whether Parker owns the land and horses at Weld County Roads 35 and 8, but it is clear that he’s responsible for the animals.
