BOULDER — Ferris, a once-stolen, 2-month-old puppy who was returned to the Humane Society of Boulder Valley on Thursday, was adopted first thing Friday morning.
The tiny dachshund — who trainers now suspect might be a coon hound — went home with its new owner Debbie Shoemaker at 1:30 p.m, the Daily Camera reported. Shoemaker is the woman who brought the puppy into the shelter Thursday after hearing about the dog theft.
According to police, Shoemaker received the dog from a friend, who had received it from someone else. Police said Shoemaker had no knowledge of the theft.
