Pueblo South at Pueblo West
7 p.m., Friday, CSU-Pueblo
Steel City battle on the college field should make this a special rivalry game. Can West break South’s 40-game regular-season unbeaten streak? Or will South, with all of its inexperience, be on the rise again?
Greeley West at Loveland
7 p.m., Sept. 24, Ray Patterson Field
The Northern League is too deep and talented to call this the deciding game of the season, but it will be huge. This will be a big road test for the top-ranked Spartans, and a chance for the Indians to validate their return.
Fountain-Fort Carson at Pine Creek
4 p.m., Sept. 26, District 20 Stadium
The two dominant powers of the Colorado Springs area over the last couple of seasons have a matinee meeting that will probably decide a league title. Last year it did that and helped vault the Eagles to the No. 1 postseason seed.
Monarch at Ralston Valley
7:30 p.m., Oct. 9, North Area Athletic Complex
Monarch’s Coyotes must first get through the mighty Mustangs before they think about Littleton down the road. This won’t be for the North Metro League championship, but the winner has to be in the race’s pole position.
Wheat Ridge at Heritage
7 p.m., Oct. 29, Littleton Public Schools Stadium
The West Metro League title came down to this last season and it could once again. Wheat Ridge used this victory last year as a big lift before the playoffs. Heritage could use that this year, and the Eagles have their home turf with them this time.
