Highlands Ranch resident Corey Swartz was a loyal season-ticket holder for the Colorado Crush of the Arena Football League. But like other Crush fans who bought tickets in advance, he has been waiting for word on how he’ll get his money back, in his case, $275, since the league announced in December that it was suspending operations.
“All of the money will be coming back to them over the course of the next 30 days,” said Paul Andrews, a vice president at Kroenke Sports Enterprises. “We want to get rolling on our communication out to them as fast as we can.”
Andrews said he didn’t know the total amount of money involved but said those who deposited money for Crush tickets would be given the option of putting their money toward tickets to other teams Kroenke owns, or getting a refund.
“I don’t necessarily want the money back if they can tell me there’s something else in the works,” Swartz said. “But there might be people who want the money back.”
Crush season-ticket holders were given an option when the 2009 Arena League season was canceled that by leaving a percentage of their ticket deposits with the team, they would be given two extra tickets to the 2010 season. Andrews said there is a possibility that some form of the Arena League could resume in the future. The Crush played home games at the Pepsi Center.
