After two improved seasons, University of Denver men’s basketball coach Joe Scott signed a contract extension that will keep him on the Pioneers bench through the 2014-15 season, DU athletic director Peg Bradley-Doppes said Tuesday.
In two seasons at DU, Scott has a 26-35 record. He led the team to 11 victories his first season after they won just four in 2006-07.
The Pioneers’ 15-16 record last season with the youngest roster in the nation included four victories over NCAA tournament teams. He has a 21-6 record at home.
“We are proud of the progress that coach Scott and his staff have made since coming to Denver,” Bradley-Doppes said. “We remain committed to making DU the premier basketball program on the Front Range.”
