The Eagle County Regional Airport in Gypsum reopened Tuesday after extensive runway renovation that began in mid-April.
The work is part of a five- year, $60 million project that also included terminal expansion and radar upgrade. Now 1,000 feet longer, the runway will accommodate heavier planes that use less fuel.
