It’s been 35 years since Federico Fellini made “Amarcord.” Today, the Chez Artiste begins a limited engagement of the maestro’s Oscar-winning celebration of growing up in a small Italian town full of characters in the 1930s. The film ambles from set-piece to set-piece with visual rhythms of reminiscence, going from the tender to the raunchy and back again. The town’s lovely celebrity, Gradisca (Magali Noël, above) could share top billing with her much-admired backside. In honor of the 35th anniversary, Janus Films presents a freshly restored 35mm print. Lisa Kennedy
