DENVER—King Soopers is asking a judge for more restrictions on union representatives entering its stores to talk to grocery workers.
King Soopers is negotiating new contracts for Colorado workers represented by United Food and Commercial Workers Union Local 7.
In June, King Soopers complained that loud groups of union representatives were disrupting business at its stores. A federal judge then limited the union to two representatives in a store at a time for union purposes and limited their talks with employees on the sales floor to four minutes.
King Soopers last month asked the judge to further limit that to one representative, with no talks on the sales floor. The union responded Thursday that that would be “unduly restrictive.”
